To date, MAC has raised and donated over $6.5 million to Texas Children's Cancer Center.
Our primary fundraising events are our annual holiday luncheon and our Virginia Gandy 5K Run and Walk. In 2019, we were the recipients of proceeds from The Clubs of Kingwood Mad Hatter Luncheon. In 2018, "In the Pink of Health" honored Mothers Against Cancer with the Volunteer & Volunteer Organizations Award for our efforts in the fight against cancer.
Since its inception, MAC has hosted a luncheon on the first Monday in December. The success of this luncheon has led to the majority of our contributions to research. To date, MAC has donated more than $6.5 million to Texas Children’s Cancer Center for children’s cancer research.
We have amazing sponsors and individuals that are willing to purchase tables and donate items for raffle and auction.
Every year, MAC honors someone at the annual luncheon. Sometimes it has been a doctor and at other times it has been a child who has had to face cancer.
Our 2019 honoree is Charlotte Blazei, the 6-year-old daughter of Natalie and Danny Blazei, the sister of Sadie and Jack, and the granddaughter of former MAC member Susan McElroy. Charlotte is a patient at Texas Children’s Cancer Center and was diagnosed with Gamma Delta Acute T-Lymphoblastic Leukemia Lymphoma, an incredibly rare form of T-Cell ALL that’s never really been seen in children. Charlotte’s brother, Jack, is her bone marrow transplant donor.
Our other fundraiser is an annual 5K Run and Walk. It is named for one of the MAC founding members who, herself, died of cancer in 2012. We have several sponsorship opportunities available.
